The Ketogenic Diet

• The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, very low carbohydrate diet used in some children who have epilepsy that is difficult to control with current medications^3,4
• The ketogenic diet drastically restricts the amounts of sugars and carbohydrates patients consume³
• Some patients may become carnitine deficient and require treatment for carnitine deficiency
